There are times when I like to practice hand holding my lens with a 2x converter. I had not planned on this today, but when my wife and I walked on to the beach I saw the perfect opportunity to do so.
I sat myself down next to the dunes and started watching these guys. The sun was in and out of the clouds. Lighting conditions were changing constantly. Setting my camera to manual, shutter speed 1/2000, ISO 800, apreture f8, I started shooting. I checked my lcd when the waves stopped and decided to switch to auto ISO and +2/3 exposure compensation.
Checking my lcd again I was happy with the exposure I was getting.
For another half an hour I waited patiently for the surfers to find another wave.
